Argaty Test Results April 2012

A successful day of retriever tests was held by the Forth and Clyde Working Gundog Association on the 21st of April 2012 on Argaty Estate near Doune. In mixed weather conditions we had a very enjoyable day and the club was pleased to congratulate all competitors on the good-humoured competition and the generally high standard of the dogs. Specific mention goes to the following:

Welcome to the Forth and Clyde Working Gundog Association (F.C.W.G.A.)

The association was created in 1970 with the aim of improving gundog standards and attracting people into the sport. Over the years the club has grown into one of Scotland's premier gundog clubs, and runs both retriever and spaniel trials, and retriever tests. Being affiliated to the Kennel Club of Great Britain, all club events are run in conjunction with their rules and regulations.

The club holds a large membership who come from all over the UK and this year the club will organise 5 trials, both novice and open standard, for retrievers and spaniels.

As everybody involved in field sports is aware, there is constant pressure being applied from external sources to restrict our sport. It is the aims of the Forth and Clyde Working Gundog Association to attract new members, both male and female, young and old, into field sports and help ensure the club and the sport remain for the enjoyment of future generations.
